Aug 2018
mother, don't you know
I feel so fortunate
to snuggle next to you
like a child,
like those years
of sticky lollipops
and scraped knees,
of hiding in hampers
and dashes across fields of grass
to have no fear
of being pushed away,
I am still very much
that little girl
