Defeated

I bow my head,

And fall to my knees.

Head hangs in shame,

I've hidden my true self from you.

Battered and tattered,

Cut and gashed.

Lost the battle,

Retreated from the war.

Internal battle with myself,

External war of shyness.

I'm not as strong as I thought,

Only to hide in myself once again.
