Clouds of black , Grey and green
Fill the sky this night~
Lightening flashes all about
within the clouds so bright~
The wind is mild, still silence reins
Trees move quietly in the waiting~
Leaves turn over upon the ground
A good storm I'm debating~
House lights now flicker on and off
The feeling it is there~
One can smell the freshness clear
Within the mountain air~
A spot of rain just hit my nose
I must hurry home~
As much as I do love the rain
I'm not facing this alone~
My home it is now in view
I see a light there burning~
The storm it nears with discontent
And for shelter I am yearning~
I now climb the steps to home
the rain comes tumbling down~
Papers , leaves and small sticks they fly
The rain now teaming upon the ground~
Trees now bending too and fro
The wind it howls now wildly~
And only just awhile ago
The wind it blew so mildly~
Lightening flashes , thunder roars
Rain flies in all directions~
Close that door a voice now cries
Its not the time for inspection~
Snug now and warm with a pet I love
Cuddled up beside me~
Sitting by our open fire
In a gown that almost hides me ~.
