Hello pillow my old friend
I've come to sleep with you again
Because a vision of me soon dreaming
Left my head while I was scheming
And the cells that are drowsy in my brain
Still remains
So soon they'll be sounds of snoring

In my restful dreams I am alone
walking fields freshly sown
'neath a cloudless bright blue sky
I whistle out a childs lullaby
but my eyes are heavy and ready for some sleep
sleep so deep
so soon they'll be sounds of snoring

by the candle light I saw
Shadows dancing on the wall
Some in shapes I've never seen
Some in visions from other dreams
but my eyes can be fooled sometimes when I'm this tired
I'm not a liar
so don't disturb the snoring

fools say they don't need sleep
but me my pillow I will keep
hear my yawning that I might
prove it
sleeping pill, I won't use it
but my words aren't all I have say
but a goodnight wave
as the room echoes with the sounds of snoring

And if I can I'll try to say
thanking God for this day
thank him for my peaceful rest
My friends, my life and how I'm blessed
and if I doze off 'fore I'm done
then sleep has won
and He'll hear my sounds of snoring
