A bit of good advice
For every lesson learned
I know I’ll pay the price
From every dollar earned

It takes hard work and grit
Action more than words
Trying to stay fit
But I think it’s for the birds

I want to surpass my best
Be better than before
I swear I will not rest
Until I’ve evened every score

Without a penny in my pocket
Without a dream, to be sure
I muddle through my docket
And proclaim to be poor

Without aspirations
I fail with all my might
I wallow in my contemplations
And I try and do what’s right

Without motivation
I’m stagnant without fight
Doomed to condemnation
So far from taking flight

And so, I do whither
Grow old with regrets
My life and soul are hindered
I took and failed the test

But I know one day the lights will shine
No more a coward in his shell
These are the things that are on my mind
Like wishing pennies down a well

One day I’ll turn my life around
You just wait and see
I will climb over leaps and bounds
To reach my victory
