It really is the smallest world this day
In a strange city my hotel room taken
Never knew just what to do its true
All plans here both costly and forsaken

Went to a bar as to think awhile of it all
Ordered a beer and the bar maid said
I know you , You lived next door it's true
In my home town back then I was wed

A girl I once went to school with long ago
Thousands of miles across oceans were we
Where are you staying she asked me softly
I then explained to her to some as if degree

Oh she said I have a place with spare room
Your welcome to come with me and to  stay
Not only saved all of my woe but friends too
Turned out to be one very pleasant holiday

It's a small world we live in that's for sure
And it all turned out to be ever so very fine
We became the best friends ever so far away
An unplanned convenience almost divine
