Salty Water
I cupped my hands full of salty water
I told him this was my life, and more
He acted like I wasn’t someone’s daughter
And he swam back to the shore
The water dripped out
Through holes in my skin
I tried my best to seal them
But I couldn’t keep in
It ran between my fingers
And landed on my toes
My hands were empty and wet
And my bare feet froze
