If I lived more lives than this
in others than myself
I’d lose them like the endless dreams
when sleep felt like surrender

every image divine
every sense sublime
every failure defeated
every mountain climbed
every music heard and created
every universe designed
every exaltation that could be mine
in any every life in every body

Let them leave with the dew
for only I, in these bones and this mind
may waste these morning hours with you
