I listen to kpop the way the Beats
                       listened to bebop & (no one    [no sports no war]
listened  to rock'n'roll                                     in 1950's
          except              children;
  postwar boom             time kids         n   listening to        uptempo swing & romantic                                                         ­                              t ballads
I watch              I      beauty        .          I beauty contests        are
                  what's      left of (     n)             burlesque in       |a)        th    e   age of mass media;                                contests the way
                 yuppies
         watch sports.             in ancient       days befor       e there          v       was   sport  there was beauty; women     & girls;
from all     parts around     would line up
        & to be selected  by
                         the Prince or whomever            could afford           to take them home,       marry & knock them up consistently      
I follow the                            news as it were the                                     circus         w/ high-                 wire acts & (n)                                         knife-throwers                                                   ­        &
I write poetry                   .                          as if it
       will last forever;
I pas         s        through time        as if time                didn't                   exist
& no              scientist                            can prove               anything exists   |;  
.  sport obviously                     evolved out            of hunting
much as beauty     pageants grew from              ***: no ***         no beauty
