When thank you for being there for me
Sounds like thank you for your pain
I have great respect for you
Sounds like I respect your sacrifice
But do I respect myself?
Letting others pull on my heart strings
Like some marionette doll
I am stiff and expressionless
Moving through the motions of daily life
It's a thin line
So easily snipped
