The games we play ‘tween me and you,
defined by all we have been through,
our wants pervert each oath we make,
our needs defend each rule we break.

The nights we spend ‘tween me and you,
desired by all we thought we knew,
our bodies locked in dark embrace,
our hearts abandoned in disgrace.

The words we say ‘tween me and you,
defiled by all we feel and do,
our souls corrupted by each lie,
our dreams disrupted as we cry.

The life we share ‘tween me and you,
defaced by all we hang on to,
our bond nought but a fantasy,
our love nothing but fallacy.
