May 2018
You emerged at the best of times
To offer me your perspective
In a time where I was doing just fine.
You leant over to rest your warmth
On my sensitive skin you engulfed
My energy into a fume setting forth
More than I could bear.

You played your drum
To which familiar voices dance.
Beating the fire till soot to become
A grave of all that I knew was once
Was not
And taken over by your gentle hand
You coursed through my veins
Burning all before you only to brand
The inside of my skull, my reasoning gland.

To control my senses you wrote
In words that appeared in fiery smoke.
"Despair was misunderstood" you said,
And you left with all I once knew was true.
You stepped aside viewing your creation as I lay hopeless to see all that I've bled.
