You don’t have to stand up, but I wish you would -
Standing up for the flag is standing up
For each other, me for you, you for me
But if you don’t, forgive me anyway

You don’t have to stand up, but I wish you would -
Because some fifty years ago That Man’s
Heel spurs kept him from crawling through the mud
With me; he’s not much of a stand-up guy

You don’t have to stand up either, but if you do –
I would be humbly honored to stand with you
