I exhale the smoke
And I pick up a yellow leaf from an oak
Oh I cherish the day that I woke
and found that it was fall

I sip the hot coffee in my cup
And I put on a nordic sweater in and attempt to warm up
Oh I cherish the day that I woke up
And found that it was fall

I hold your hand in my cold one
A chill goes through me that makes me want to run
Oh I cherish the day I saw the rising sun
And found that it was fall

Times in life are like the seasons
One ends and you must explore the next
You can't hold onto the past and forever reflect
Eventually you've got to make the call
Just say you're finally ready for the fall

I let go of my hopes
And I know that somehow I will cope
Oh I cherish the day I just let go
And found that it was fall
