You Are Always On My Mind
If I could, I'd take the pain away and right all of the wrong.
I'd give you what you want. Give to you all that you've long.
If I told you that I love you, would you believe a word I say?
Well it's the truth, I really do. I always prove that every day.
I try to show you that I love you. I often try to say I care.
But words slip away, though in my heart those words I bare.
I try to show I care for you. Try giving it all my might.
I call you up to say, "I love you" before I fall asleep at night.
I try to do all of the things that a man should say and do.
Believe or don't believe, I know my heart belongs to you.
Always asking if I love you, well just take a look and see.
Look what I've done for you. Will you doubt or just believe?
I write you letters, still you ask. Give you flowers, still don't care.
I give you hugs and my kisses, still you wonder if I'm there.
Call you up, see how you're doing, making sure that you're alright.
Still you ask if I love you; well it's there in plain sight!
Please forgive me, I'm really shy. I hide my feelings deep inside.
I don't have anything against you, all I do is simply try.
Yes, I know I hide my feelings. Sometimes I keep it deep inside.
But I'm always thinking of you. You are always on my mind.
Maybe I do these kind of things to protect my self esteem.
Maybe I do these things to hide the child inside of me.
I don't do these things to hide behind some kind of built up pride.
If I did, I wouldn't tell you that I'm proud that you are mine.
If I could, I'd heal your heart so that you could just believe.
I'd take the veil from your eyes so you could see I do love thee.
Please forgive, I'm made of flesh. I bare my feelings deep inside.
But I'm always thinking of you; you are always on my mind.
