Guess Im just flippen through the pages Of a life Ive lived this time~ And since I was nothen but a lad Got on the road in this country of mine~ Traveled , boy I traveled Worked , You believe me true~ Seen yes n done things I can honestly say more than a few~ Never afraid to strike a blow Or give a helping hand~ Worked for love so often As I traveled this great land~ Never got some fancy education Spent life studying one bird Or some renamed little flower Or gave it a name weve never heard~ But I was taught by life out there Along lifes longest road~ And I can say so honstly Almost all of them Ive strode~ Ive always had this freak type memory Never forgot a single thing its true~ Never missed much along the way Kept it all filed away as I do~ Was never afraid to get involved And help a soul along the way~ That simply was out numbered By lifes idiots dare I say~ Gave away my share of money To those that were down and almost out~ Told em Id see em up the road And they could maybe give me a shout~ Never committed a crime in life Because I know right from wrong~ And dont believe in all these excuses About that someone should write a song~ Ive done things that many Know Ive done its true~ And speak of same in amazement Saying .. God the likes of you~ Been overseas a few times On a country loven trip or two~ To meet and listen to my favourites As they do so well what they do~ Made ever so much money And raised a family on the way~ Gave em all I had to give Ever dedicated on the day~ And now Im flippen through the pages Of a life Ive lived so well~ Given it all , all I had With every stride too might I tell~ Ive met no end out there just like me A lot that I still know~ All good n honest jacks of all trades Not afraid to strike a blow~ Ive sang my share of country songs And have written more than I can tell~ Written poetry and in my way Tried to ring more than one bell~ Ive painted landscapes in oil Even invented things that made real sense~ Saved so many lives along the way And made real friends from fence to fence~ But after a lifetime of liven And travlen this great land~ Im flippen through the pages Of a memory ever grand ~
