Stop And Smell The Roses

You said to stop and smell the roses

Each time you pass them by

Don't be in such a hurry

For even roses have to die

A fragrance like no other

A smell your senses consume

A drop of love from up above

A little of Heaven's perfume

It's the flower of perfection

That its stem so gently adorns

Its petals hold such beauty

That they're guarded by its thorns

You said to stop and smell the roses

And for twenty years I've tried

I'm no longer in a hurry

Without you by my side

The roses are a part of me

Knowing the joy they gave

So I stop and smell the roses

As I place them on your grave
