memories
slip into darkness
hide in the recesses of my mind
trust love betrayal pain
blend together
whirl together
a dizzying mess of
questions answers
uncertainty
and in the center of it
focus
i focus on the
shell
clean shining
filled with grains of sand
from days long past
sand that filled your hand
sand that snuggled between your
toes
salty air cool water
whipping
whirling
against my face
like the memories
and the darkness
curls around them once again
