They say the worst way to die is by love
Because, It’s the only thing
That will keep you alive to feel it…

I wish I could say this isn’t true,
Or at least say this isn’t about me…
But, you see it just wouldn’t be the same…
If it wasn’t written from my heart’s pain…

Don’t look back…
I don’t want you to see,
As I struggle to pick up all the pieces,
Of a broken me…

Don’t look back…
Because sometimes the sea is too deep to tread.
I’m stranded in the ocean,
Just trying to get out of bed.

Don’t look back…
I’d hate for you to stray
From this new future you’ve found,
Because you sometimes wonder about
The one you left laying on the ground.

Don’t look back…
Or do…
Honestly, I’ve forgiven you.
I almost want to say, I’m sorry too.
Because if… No…
When… You do.
I may not be here,
And you won’t get to see.
The garden that blossomed,
From the seeds you planted in me.
This poem is about acceptance, a lot of my writing has come from a very dark place... I often struggle from day to day, I'm sure not when it gets better. But, I hold onto hope that it will get better. I hope you enjoy.
