Word of the day - FILIPENDULOUS
Meaning - hanging by a thread

Just one blow
and I will break.
Just one swish of wind
and I will be carried away
to a faraway land.
Just one push
and I will fall.
There is only
one small thread
between me and life
and it’s been years
since I am holding it,
and it’s getting weak.
Anytime I see someone
with scissors or razors or knives
I have two thoughts.
One, I get scared
what if they knowingly
or mistakenly cut away my thread
and Second,
I deliberately invite them
to do the honours
of releasing me
from this world.
If I trip, I stand up again
because I still have
one last hope.
If I stumble, I gain my composure
because I still have
one last chance.
If I fall, I do get up
because I still
want to live again.
But somedays,
when I trip or fall or stumble
I don’t get up, I just lie there
protecting my thread
which is keeping me alive.
Because somedays
I want to live.
