There’s a place I stare out to
High up in the sky
It’s in the black of night
Searching for a shooting star
Just within my sight

I pray, I wish
I constantly ask why
Waiting for an answer
Or a spaceship passing by

Round and round
Spinning like a top
Lifted off the ground
Dizzy till I drop

Clouds impair my vision
Raindrops in my eyes
I’ve set out on a mission
Yet I’m still here asking why

I’m heading towards a collision
When the sun and moon collide
Multiple decisions
Along for the ride

Not sure where I’m headed
Avoiding the solution
The answer I already know
Please forgive my intrusion

I’m just like every other
With wonder and with pride
Had I listened to my mother
I’d have taken it in stride

Instead I was a rebel
Finding shortcuts all the time
As foggy as the clouds above
The rain still in my eyes
