Knowing all too well that my flesh is weak,
I have to steel my mind against its proclivities
and ravenous inclinations,

embracing the necessity of the tyranny
of my conscience by the Spirit of God,
I pray the circumvention of
my succulent tempestuous desires,

taking every vain imagination captive,
subjecting them to the will of-
Christ our Savior,

else my murderous heart of depravity,
given opportunity, would devour-
even my eternal soul
