Waking up during surgery
You never realize
What you are
Living
Breathing
Feeling
Until you are
Put down for
Surgery
You lay there
Heart beating loud
Thump
Thump
Thump
Skin is pricked
And then soft
Darkness
There isnβt darkness
Tube in mouth
Bleary
Doctors
Pain
Nurse we have
A problem now
Sleep
YOU ARE UP
YOU ARE ALIVE
*****
Headache
Confusion
They tell you
You awoke during
Operation
You are angry
And kinda scared
What
The
****
Morphine is good
It kills pain
Away
You heal up
Normally of course
You
Never
Forget
The tubes all
In your head
Helpless
Against everything you
Are at mercy
Nurse
Doctor
Surgeon
Can **** you
And youβd never
Know
