Let me drown
Let me smile one last time
I'll say tomorrow
but death says today
He grins, takes my chin into his cold hand and whispers
Today
I'll cry to death and he'll laugh
Tell me he's happy to see me
Happy to know I'll be with him
Today
He bends down, his eyes darkening
Sweet and tinder, his kiss
Today death said, I'll take her
Death said she deserves so much better
Today, tomorrow
Death does not slow down
He waits for you to smile to strike you down
