I wanted to give you
The beauty of my heart,
In a pretty face
Or the smile of a child,
Something, mysterious,
Unknown,
Carried within me,
Like the feathers of a dove,
Cradled forever,
But never quite shown,

So I gave you my beauty,
In the things that I owned.
