Even though it’s broken
It’s still beating.
That’s the thing about hearts,
Even though they break they still work.
Beating away,
Day after day,
Hour after hour.
Keeping its broken human going.
Able to breath,
Able to think,
Able to do most anything,
But love.
When a heart breaks,
Darkness is let inside,
The heart can only take so much darkness.
Until the day it shatters.
So,
Let a little darkness in,
But,
Before it’s too late,
And your heart stops beating,
Turn a light on.
Talk about it,
Buy some duct tape,
And patch the heart together,
Again,
And again,
And again.
Because the truth is,
It will break again.
But whether you turn the light on and talk about it,
Or let the heart shatter,
Is completely up to you,
And you alone.
