Reflections

Every year I come to the wall

Remembering the war of long ago

Peaceful calm as I walk looking at names

Brothers and sisters who gave their lives

I touch the names of friends that I have lost

Who fought for their country at any cost

I close my eyes as I touch a friends name

Ever since that day I am not the same

Open my eyes to see their reflections staring back at me

Friends who died, so people could be free

They touch my hand and smile at me

Angel in heaven spirits free

I often ask the question of why am I here

The courage they showed they had no fear

I will always see their reflections in my mind
please feel free to message me if their is anything wrong with this poem,  thank you
