I'm in the place
Where we drank up the syrup
Of exotic birds
And fed fish
With the bobble of my head
Like I was yours
And always would be.

You said to me
"Now we have to get married."

Because your favorite bird liked me
But we rode down the escalator
And so quickly as our feet stepped down
We disappeared
And I saw those words
Become nothing.

You wanted a second chance
A third one too
But each time
You laid next to me
And it just was never enough
Never enough for me
So I turned around
So completely.

We dressed up so nice
Took photos in front of the beach
I made make believe
I suppose you did too
Wondering in between sips of cold coffee.

But I'm here now
I'm here now
So completely without you.
