Walking from day to day
Not living
But not dying
You try the drugs
The alcohol
The love
The greed
Nothing satisfies
The happiness doesn't last
You're just passing time until the clock times out
The cool stuff is never enough
What you thought was love left you empty
When the drink wears off you feel the need for more to forget your problems
The drugs take everything you have
You're health
You're money
You're time
On the inside all you want is for the clock to run out and end your misery
Then the calm comes and the healing to your misery arrives like a dove flying from the clouds
And it catches you
And carries you to the highest mountains
