Even My Marrow Gets Tongue-Tied
You make my bones stutter
Collarbones tripping
Femurs choking
A catch on each shifting syllable
A creak in my heart for every beat
Every vertebrae nervous
Even my knee caps stammer
You walk by slow and languid
Easy as the tide
My body as tight and jerky as a
Scared rabbit
Yours as lose and winsome as
Chimney smoke
To Karnie.
