Jan 2018
resilience is built in yellow
golden stars against organza.
my resilience was bred in me
blood tinged gold by stars.

(you've left my heart too many times
for me to trust you)

and like the cold of january i fought you.
i faced your burdensome eyes
and walked along frozen streets against you
just to feel
the resilience you offered me.
through fight,
nails and knuckles and your cold days
i fought
until I knew this was
how I would leave
