Brave Men and Women

Brave men and women died today

Soldiers and prisoners of war,

Unfair some say.

Their families now torn, So far away from each other.

Children born without fathers there,

Widowed mothers left to care.

A people brave at heart,

Blind to what they know not,

Information hidden to prevent thought.

Fighting for land and power,

Though the reason is not known,

It has yet to be shown.

Fighting for land and power with their lives they pay,

Fighting in hope to show a better way.

A person has lied,

The one we looked to most,

To show even a meek glint of hope,

When war, destruction, and terror is all you promote.
