Blue Water

The sun here is shining, The sea here so warm. It takes me away From the eye of the storm. I can no longer focus on the wrong they have done. A long, painful battle it seems I've finally won. The sun, shining bright Is toasting my skin. Banishing darkness, and any sign of sin. The sea here is cleansing, So warm and so kind. It washes away any remnants Of sadness those girls left behind. MaybeI'm crazy, And maybe I'm wrong. But the waves on this beach Pull me with a force so strong. In this place, I am safe. No longer just one Lonely young girl All alone in the sun.

I was going through my writing from school this past year and I found this in my final anthology for Creative Writing class. I don't love it, but I love what it makes me think of.
