I don’t need a diamond ring—
I’d rather have your heart.
And maybe a love song you wrote
All about us, from the start.
No ‘happily ever after’,
Just a promise:
‘We’ll weather the storms together.’
I don’t need a fantasy,
I need someone to be true to me.
So, don’t say it if you don’t mean it,
And I’ll do the same
Until our dying day.
It doesn't take love to buy a ring. I want something more.
