It takes a world of kindness
to cover up a heart of coal
for mine is a blackened blindness
dark enough to steal your soul

visit this depth of nothingness
don't fathom its layers of theft
for I cover up this hole of emptiness
with smiles and remnants of fret

Living each day as a fraud
if only you could see
this authenticity
ingenious words on the sly
then you'd shut up and be grateful
and go away to hide

I don't have much patience
for small talk and lies
but it takes a script
that's fraudulent
to make the stage a disguise

But please always remember
its my life and a story of just cause
And I am delighted to tell you
This poem is nothing but a fraud
