When I'm in need of a friend,
Lord, please send a friend my way
Who will help lift my spirits,
And bring light into my day.

Send someone into my life,        
Whom I'm able to talk to,
Someone who wants what is best
For me and will care like you.

Even if you don't, dear Lord,
You will still be my best friend.
For me you want what is best.
Your will help me understand.

Give me the strength and courage
That I need to persevere.
When life is hard to  cope with,
Times like this, Lord, then be near.
