"I am so sorry for your loss."
No you're not, you watched her cross
to the other side, and didn't even try
to stop her or send her back,
so don't start with this lie.

"She's in a better place."
No she's not, her family is here.
How could one still feel whole
without her three children near?

"How's your family holding up?"
How do you think?
Were trembling and broken,
and could all use a drink.

"This will only make you stronger."
I don't see how, I am alone and upset
and I don't want to go out.
I hate the world without her in it,
close the door behind you, just quit.
things not to say when a parent dies
