Can't you see I'm hurting
From a heart that's broken
Can't you see my wheels are churning
I've never been outspoken

You dashed off to the unknown
Hoping you'd return home
I finally got a grip on
King Arthur's sword in stone

I was the king to be
And you were my chosen queen
My damsel in distress
We got caught up in the dream

If this story had a happy ending
I'd have a heart worth mending
I know this may sound tempting
But it's you I was depending

If just for a moment
You brought me such fulfillment
The light that led the way
To eternal endearment

But you punctured me with daggers
Through your eyes I felt disdain
You left me cold and heartless
That it's driven me insane

I don't know if I ever could
Love someone again
Will I ever recover
I guess it all depends
I guess it all depends
