Walk Alone

They didn’t tell me to walk on my own.

But fate,

They distanced.

I sit on the bench,

Thinking about the things they had done.

The way people thought,

The way they perceive things, assume them,

All had changed.

All had changed,

Only for the worse.

I looked at the dry leaves which had just fallen,

Even they were green,

But once.

I looked at everything so lush green;

Even they would wither out someday.

Every dog has its day,

They say.

All dogs even have bad days.

I am a lonely dog.

If they would be there today,

Walk alone, they would say.

But under their guidance.

But now I walk alone,

Forever.
