If all the trees made paper,
And all the oceans ink
How long would it take
For a paper boat to sink?

If you took all of the sand,
And made an hourglass
How long would it take
For all that sand to pass?

If the sand was from the eyes,
Of sleeping dreamers far away
How many stories would it take
For night to turn to day?

So I'm on a paper boat,
Sailing in a sea of ink
Looking at an hourglass
And wond'rin if I'll sink.

The ink bleeds through the paper,
But I am not afraid.
For I can see, in my dreams
The stories we have made

I'll sail until the hourglass
Is all run out of time
Then I'll wake up from my dream
Before the sun begins to shine.
