The Night Maiden

Look at the vermillion sky
Marshmellowy clouds don a reddish hue
The gentle breeze blows
Telling of stories, old and new

Darkness falls,
the cicada sings
The sky is still
Who knows what the night will bring

I wait for her in the stillness of the night
I wait for her under the starlight sky
She keeps me waiting,
I do wonder why.

Then she comes,
Floating with the wind
Her glance, her touch, her smile
Reminds me of forbidden sins

I reach out to touch her
I reach out with all my might
Her laughter tinkles in the air
And then..................
She vanishes into the night.
