I’ve got many collectibles—wanna trade?
I’ve got cards of all shapes and sizes,
Traced from cookie cutters, stencils, and clumsy packing knives,
Pulled from various decks, seemingly random,
And trimmed with borders that took 5 years
Or in some cases stood as 5 minute masterpieces.
Let’s see what I have as I put this on shuffle
(And I hope you delight in the background music—
Only the best of the worst, the worst of the best—
Carefully selected for this very event.)
The cards I have drawn today are
Guilt
And
Apathy
And
Semi-consciousness
(That last one’s a keeper).
Good trifecta, I would presume,
But I’m only the dealer (too afraid to be
The player.)
Here you go; you can have my stack.
Hey where did you go? Why did you leave?
Of course I know the answer;
The table is empty, except for
My shame.
