I place my bet
on strings pulled

by the sun.
crows in their

black plumage
are silhouettes

suspending
mustache sunset.

my pockets are
empty—

no lint,
crime

or cash.
I am broken

but will not run
into the darkness.

no
let me maunder

with the ephemera
of passing day.

I need a friend to
talk to.
