There's Billy Short, a promising pitcher in the Yankee chain back in the mid to late fifties, I believe, that had a brief stay with the parent team.

There's Chris Short, a successful pitcher with the Philadelphia Phillies back in the mid to late sixties, if I remember correctly.

There is short as in Tim, who I remember as "some character" a year behind me in high school who was in a couple of "cool" cliques, something which I wasn't cut out for.

There's short as in shorttimers, which was slang for an enlisted man in the army during Vietnam who, partially because he was a draftee or for other reasons wanted out of the army bad for obvious reasons, who was no lifer sergeant who'd get a charge out of sending guys over to 'Nam while he ate "delicious" army cook-made apple pie sent down to the orderly room specifically in case by the cook in the mess hall kitchen just for such sergeants.

There's Luke Short, the all-American cowboy as in ****** paperback Western books.

There's short as in people who might prefer being called "less tall".

There's short as in a cute little compact car; I believe that's Afro-American slang.

There's a short as in blown electrical fuse.

There's shortness as in missing something in a dining hall, for example.

There's getting short as in one working their way out of a basically unpleasant institution.

I'm sure there are those of you who know all about shortness.

Pardon me for being trite or somethin'.
