I sought out the Oracle
With hopes of wealth and fame
A concept so deplorable
The remorse and the shame

I never did complete my task
It haunts me to this day
With an attitude a little crass
Yet, still pumping through my veins

I had to set aside my fears
They'd held me back thus far
There's no need to shed your tears
How will you count the stars?

Right next to you, a wounded heart
It lay beneath my skin
Palpitations off the charts
Oh, the shape I'm in

No more time to panic
Take it all in stride
Maybe I'm just manic
Swallowing my pride
