May 2012
lying on a beach
looking up at the clouds
same idea perched
on both of our mouths,
i am a bird on a window sill
you're a song upon my lips
i will sing you to the trees and hills
and place your hands
upon my hips.

i stole glances at you
as you tried ignoring me
you were focused on the view
and you were all i could see
that night i saw you dancing
you were young, wild, and free,
and tonight i'm not alone,
because you're lying
next to me.
