It hits you like a swing of a bat
Like your first kiss
The recurring dream, night sweats
You're walking down the road
Smiling because you just got paid
Or laid or new jeans, new book so on
Happiness is what you feel, you think
It's actually a dormant mind
Free from the anxiety and impatience
That a conscious mind fights everyday
It's closed eyes, it's bed time stories
You don't feel it when your young
The older we get, further into the cave
We came from the waters
To dry land seeking food
But all we found was the poison
Of working, insanity with love,
Long minds, shorts perception
And this, this morning ritual to keep
So bathe together, drink whiskey
Stare deeply into another mind
Because baby when this is over
They don't serve pain there
