The mirror is broken
And I don't know why
The pieces are stained in red

And it seems the reflection
From the shards left by
Match the image left in my head

Was it one too many failures
One too many falls
Or too much compromise?

Was it that I took a leisurely
Lazy call
With consequences I didn't realize?

Now my eyes can't see themselves
All they see is shadows
And no one really sees a shadow
Until it looks back at themself

I see my shadow in my reflection
And I'm afraid of the dark
