reminder to self
From eight kilometers to seven thousand miles,
I keep reminding myself:
"
This will only be for a little while.
"
"
He'll be back soon
,"
I keep reminding myself,
Throwing wishes at the moon.
"
And in just a few more weeks
,"
I keep reminding myself;
"
I'll get to kiss you again on your cheeks.
"
"
I'd be cuddling with you again in no time
,"
I keep reminding myself.
"
But for now, I'll only be hugging you in my mind
."

Five miles apart now,
Eleven thousand kilometers apart tomorrow.
