From eight kilometers to seven thousand miles,
I keep reminding myself:
"This will only be for a little while."

"He'll be back soon,"
I keep reminding myself,
Throwing wishes at the moon.

"And in just a few more weeks,"
I keep reminding myself;
"I'll get to kiss you again on your cheeks."

"I'd be cuddling with you again in no time,"
I keep reminding myself.
"But for now, I'll only be hugging you in my mind."

Five miles apart now,
Eleven thousand kilometers apart tomorrow.
