As the winds howl
The birds scatter
Dogs start to growl
And the windows shatter

Autumn approached quickly
Signalling the end of summer
Crops dry out
A bad harvest for breadwinners

Stale, cold food fills the table
Warmed by only a candle in the middle
Still air indicates the silence in the room
A harsh winter was approaching
